MULLED WINE

I keep telling people about this so I thought I wld put up a recipe!

Mulled wine is usually red wine combined w spices & served hot. Traditional drink during winter, and esp around Christmas - to warm up (and makes you giggle alot)! This was introduced to me by my swedish half family (Swedish: Glögg, which is the Scandinavian form of mulled wine).

Its so delish and very more-ish!

INGREDIENTS:
4 cups red wine (burgundy or claret) | 1/2 cup water | Peel of one orange
Peel of one lemon | 1 stick cinnamon | 6 cloves | 1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar
Serves: About 10 - 12

Put all ingredients in a large saucepan. Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain through a sieve. Serve while hot!!

@ Brisbane/Gold Coast

Brisbane/Gold Coast Trip was fab although didnt do enough exploring! Got to catch up with a couple of friends which was great and met a few cool people.

Managed to get to DFO Brisbane which had some of my fave shops like Cue, Jag, Witchery, Diana Ferrari, Nine West and tons more!

Went out to a fabulous restaurant in Surfers Paradise called ABSYNTHE which was delicious. The very select menu ('The Degustation' menu) was a shortlist of some very interesting combinations of tastes, accompanied by the appropriate wine to go with each course. I was worried that (with my huge appetite!) the meal would be far too delicate for my huge..eyes..but although the portions were small, the two courses filled me up so much i thought i was going to pop out of my new, slightly small trousers!! Yummy scrummy!

As far as partying goes i was out with my fantastic lesbotronic friend who took me to (where else?) The Whickam and The Beat in Brisbane. Met a few beautiful people and even spotted a sadam hussein look-a-like! Couldn't really bust out the moves as I had a suitcase size handbag and was sporting a brown jumper...yes...a brown jumper (we were planning on being good and going home after we had Vietnamese for dinner)!

BIG THANX to Jess & Justin for putting up with my shopping antics! xx
